As I was scrolling through Instagram, I came across a post from The Champagne Diet that said, “January 1st is a comfort zone” and it hit me, how many years have I made lists of goals and resolutions that sit on my desk until 1/1? Why am I waiting for the new year to start eating better, exercise, save money, etc? Let’s just start putting these plans to action now!
Of course in most cases it’s easier said than done, 2018 was a hard year and you may not want to even look at your 2019 goals until it gets here but in reality…January 1st is just another day. You can start a clean slate at anytime and it’s never too early to start getting your shit together. Here’s some advice from Morty:
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been beyond dissatisfied with my life lately and I’ve started to put some things into perspective. I’m realizing I have to change where I’m putting my energy and stay as positive as I can. I find myself just wasting so much time on social media, feeding my burnout from work and not staying focused on my passions. There are so many things I’m good at doing that I just don’t do anymore. I’ve started working on putting those things back on my schedule. I miss writing stories and poems, dancing, traveling, visiting museums, baking, walking around the city, dreaming, the list goes on and on! But I can’t focus on those things if I’m scrolling Instagram or Twitter for hours comparing my life to others, or just laying down and watching Youtube while I let great ideas come and go without writing them down. I can’t afford to let anymore of my life and time be wasted, especially if I want my new little family to live an amazing life.
I’ll be sharing my upcoming plans and goals after I attend the SHE x SHINES vision boarding party. There is a lot of structure I’m working to implement and I’d prefer to have a visual of what my 2019 is going to look like. If you want to attend the event check them out on instagram @shexshines!
Lastly, if you’re having any trouble getting organized, I have a How To series on the blog about getting the right apps, planners, etc to put you on the right track. You can also always reach me on IG or Facebook if you have questions!
